Ghana Street Food Festival 2016 to begin April 30

The maiden edition of the Ghana Street Food Festival, anchored by Ghana’s prolific event & hospitality management company, SHBS is set to take off on Saturday, April 30 to Sunday 1st of May 2016 at the Aviation Social Center respectively.

According to the organizers, the 1st ever Ghana Street Food Festival seeks to become one of the country’s major annual event. It will display a variety of both traditional and international street food; proudly made in Ghana food and hygiene related products, locally made artifacts and items that will uphold Africa’s heritage to the rest of the world. The feast will be two fun-filled days of authentic street food tastes, socializing and entertainments; it is expected to entice over 2000 people from different social backgrounds per day.

Ghana Street Food Festival’s theme for its first year is “Promoting Tourism, The Role of the Street Food Vendor”. As part of the festival’s routine, there will be free eye screening for all; health and investment talks for food vendors and children’s cooking class for ages 7-10.

Awards will be given to the first 3 Food Vendors that operates the cleanest food/drink stall at the Ghana Street Food Festival 2016. Other activities include live entertainments, food, drinks and product sales alongside playground for kids. Saturday night will feature a “Night Life on the Street” at the event with an interesting medley of flavors; counting from night foods, drinks, good music, comedy & dance.

SHBS’ aim for hosting this festival is to promote healthy street food operations in Ghana, to reintroduce our local street foods & snacks that are no longer popular and to give that Ghanaian community an opportunity to experience some of their favorite street food in a clean/healthier atmosphere.

The festival is part of SHBS’ project of educating and training street food vendors in Ghana.

The Ghana Street Food Festival Brings the General Public together to support & promote hygienic street food operations. This is for a good cause.

Ghana to host Water Africa and Africa Building exhibition

Ghana will host Water Africa and West Africa Building & Construction Exhibition and Seminars from June 22 to June 24, 2016 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

A statement issued by African Conferences & Exhibitions Limited (ACE Event Management) and copied the Ghana News Agency said over 50 local and international companies have already shown their commitment to participate in the conference.

The statement said the event, is an internationally recognised trade show where exhibitors reach the key decision-makers from the water, wastewater and building and construction sectors in the West Africa region.

The event is endorsed and supported the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing; Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors; Chartered Institute of Building; Community Water and Sanitation Agency; Water Research Institute (WRI), and Ghana Contractors Association Council.

The rest are Ghana Institute of Architects; Ghana Institute of Engineers; Ghana Institute of Planners; Ghana Institute of Surveyors; Ghana Real Estate Development Association; Ghana Water Company; Water Research Commission, and the Foundation for the Development of Africa.

This year’s celebrations fall on a Sunday. The main celebration here in Accra will be held at the Independence Square.

May the spirit of nationalism that filled the hearts of the people of this country, as we celebrated the end of colonial rule and awaited the dawn of independence fill the heart of every Ghanaian.

Koby Maxwell To Celebrate Ghana Independence In American Diaspora

The west African nation of Ghana will turn 59 in March 2016 and as part of celebrations, Koby Maxwell , a Ghanaian entertainer and artist based in the USA will be hosting his annual Ghana independence celebrations ball to commemorate the event.


Koby Maxwell begun the independence celebrations for Ghanaians living in the American Diaspora in the year 2013 as a display of his love for his country Ghana and to celebrate its exemplary leadership in Africa.


Ghana is the first sub-Saharan country in Africa to declare independence from British colonial rule on March 6, 1957.


Koby Maxwell Productions (KMP), organizers of Ghana 59th Ball say it will happen from 9PM Eastern Standard Time on March 12-13, 2016 at the Friendship Center on 9055 Maier Road in Laurel, Maryland in the USA. KMP revealed to that the 2016 event will see Ghanaian born Nollywood actor Chris Attoh return as host for the occasion after he hosted the inaugural edition in 2013.


“Because of the growth we have experienced over the years, KMP is being joined by Vantage Firm, David PRO and Jah PRO to promote this year’s event. We are also proud to have South African Airways , a multiple award winning airline and a Star Alliance member who now flies direct to Accra in Ghana from Washington Dulles as our official sponsor.
